Graduated from Doshisha University in 1986 and began a career at Nikko Securities (now SMBC Nikko Securities). Held various positions across retail and institutional sales divisions before being appointed Head of Corporate Planning in 2007. Played a key leadership role in the company’s 100% acquisition by Citigroup and its subsequent integration into the SMBC Group. Since 2011, served in multiple senior executive positions including Deputy Head of the Financial Markets Division (Bond Trading), Deputy Head of the Capital Markets Division (equity and IPO financing), Head of the Financial and Public Institutions Division, and Director & Senior Managing Executive Officer in charge of corporate planning and finance. Appointed President and CEO in 2020, and currently serves as Special Advisor to the firm as of 2024. Brings deep expertise in all aspects of the securities business, alongside extensive executive leadership experience and a broad network among listed companies, financial institutions, and institutional investors. Appointed General Partner at Incubate Fund in April 2025.

Mizuho Bank and Incubate Fund Announce Business Alliance and Investment in IF Growth 1 Fund press release

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Incubate Fund, Inc. signed a business alliance agreement today with the aim of enhancing the sophistication of both debt and equity financing methods in supporting the growth of domestic startups and strengthening collaboration to create new industries, particularly in the deep-tech area.
In addition, Mizuho Bank has invested in the "IF Growth No. 1 Fund" at the same time as this alliance.
