Incubate Fund establishes IFLP No. 3 Fund, a fund specializing in limited partner investments in independent seed funds. press release

(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative partners: Toru Akaura, Masahiko Honma, Keisuke Wada, Yusuke Murata, and Paul McNerney; hereinafter "Incubate Fund") has launched a new fund, IFLP Fund No. 3.
1. IFLP Fund
IFLP has grown as the only model of its kind in Japan, aiming to maximize the network of independent seed fund individual GPs and their opportunities to work with LPs. The fund continues to grow based on the formation of a strong community between the GPs we support, the entrepreneurs they invest in, and the LPs who invest in them.
The IFLP No. 1 Fund, established in 2018 with 6.9 billion yen, has invested in 17 funds as an LP as of the end of December 2024, and through those funds has made investments in a total of over 300 startup companies. Several companies have already achieved IPOs, and others continue to grow steadily.
In addition, the "IFLP No. 2 Fund," established in 2021 with ¥10 billion, has already completed the inclusion of 16 funds and is investing in more than 100 diverse startups. As with the "IFLP No. 1 Fund," we expect to invest in more than 300 startups.
Based on this track record of promoting the birth and growth of a wide range of startups through seed fund support, we have established the new "IFLP Fund No. 3. This fund will be responsible for further expansion of the ecosystem, and will aim to grow even larger than the previous fund to provide support to more seed funds and entrepreneurs.
About the IFLP3 Fund
Following "IFLP No. 1 and No. 2", "IFLP Fund No. 3" will make LP investments in GPs that share the incubate fund's investment philosophy of "Zero to Impact" and "First Round, Lead Position, Build Industries". (*1)
By supporting the challenges of up-and-coming GPs with promising potential, the Fund will also play a role in encouraging the expansion of independent seed funds with diverse concepts such as regional expansion, technology specialization, and overseas market development, as well as the creation of diverse startups.
Furthermore, we will make maximum use of various programs operated by the Incubate Fund (Incubate Camp, Pitch Day, etc.) and work closely with Partner Fund to create opportunities for co-investment and business collaboration in startups.

3. the goal of the IFLP No. 3 Fund
The Fund has a diverse range of investors including business companies and financial institutions. Through collaboration with diverse investors, we will expand the framework for startup growth support and create an environment that facilitates challenges for entrepreneurs in all regions of Japan.
For business companies and financial institutions, we will also contribute to the sustainable growth of the Japanese economy by accelerating new business creation and partnerships and collaborations with startups.
In this fund, the participation of local business companies and financial institutions has accelerated more than in the previous fund, and we will take on the challenge of producing many successful cases that contribute to the revitalization of local economies and cross-regional collaboration.
Incubate Fund will continue to support independent seed funds to further develop the startup ecosystem.
